Tatyarao Lahane is a current Dean of Grant Medical College and J. J. Hospital, Mumbai known for setting world record for Cataract operations with more than 100,000 cataract surgeries. He was awarded Padma Shri award in 2008 by President of India which is 4th highest civilian award of India.
==Early life==
Lahane was born in a small village named Makegaon in Latur district of Maharashtra state in farmer's family on 12 February 1957 to father Pudlikrao and mother Anjanabai. He is one of 7 children of the couple.〔http://thinkmaharashtra.com/kala/डॉ-तात्यासाहेब-लहाने〕 At young age his both Kidneys were not functioning, his mother donated him one of her Kidney.〔
